HeLP-Diabetes online programme
University College London wanted to create a diabetes education programme that people with diabetes could access online.
We worked with the HeLP-Digital team to develop a structured curriculum for the programme. Once in place, we supported clinicians and commissioners as they rolled it out. We continue to work as Clinical Leads for the programme.
The course featured in Diabetes UK’s Diabetes Update Summer 2016 and received official accreditation from QISMET in December that year.
The success of the programme was recognised with a commendation at the QIC 2016 awards.
“This is a great project which focuses on self-management – a much neglected area of care – and has good user feedback.”
DIAMONDS Study – Improving Services for people with diabetes and severe mental illness
The DIAMONDS research team approached Diabetes & wellbeing with a request for a specialist diabetes nursing partner for the programme.
The research team is running various projects to investigate the problems faced by people with diabetes and serious mental illness, with a view to developing self-management education. We have been asked to support this work and provide input at meetings and workshops for the programme development grant.
